Introducing Your Character

Character Name: Vincent "V" Castillo Aguilar (he doesn't personally know his surnames)
Character Age: 28
Character Species: Human (cyberware augmented)
Character Canon: Cyberpunk 2077
CRAU: n/a
Canon Point: In Mikoshi after finding out that if he goes back to the body he still dies.

Per the Setting

Three Items: Crimestopper (Smart pistol), his Rayfield Caliburn, a bag with enough synthcoke to keep V happy for a few months

Grounding Item: The rosary that was his mother's. She was killed when he was ten and it is all that he has left of her. As far as he remembers, being with his mother was the best time of his life, and after her death is when everything went wrong. When he goes through the prayers he can almost remember what her voice sounded like.

Canon Abilities & Skills: Here. Cyberware + quickhacks are most important. He can swap out loaded and available quickhacks freely except for Blackwall Gate, which is built into his cyberdeck.

Glitched Abilities: I live off of the idea that the universe runs on cruel comedy, so they'll glitch in any way that is funny or backfires on V and hurts him or makes his position worse. Given the nature of the Blackwall AI, whenever V tries to use it (if he ever tries, it's very much a last resort deal) then it will just mock him and refuse to do anything. Overclock has built in punishment that comes in the form of essentially cooking his brain, so it's really hard for him to really overuse anything without accidentally killing himself. That being said, just like the rest, whatever's funniest or makes V suffer the most.

Mental Evaluation

General Morals: Overall, he's very flexible. Night City is a city of hedonism and corruption, with a crime rate that officially has tripled that of the New United States of America. V grew up destitute and was forced into some very hard situations as a very young age, especially after his mom died. He eixsted in survival mode for so long that his moral code survives as: fuck the police, fuck the megacorps more, fuck the government, and fuck you for getting in his way. V also has a very soft spot for women, sex workers, kids, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Consent is incredibly important to him when it comes to sex, cutting through no matter how drunk or high he is. A person who breaks any of his personal moral code is considered irredeemable, typically finding their life cut very short.

Relationship to Trauma: His entire life is traumatic, so the quick answer is he's learned to compartmentalize to such a high degree that many people would say he has a depersonalization disorder of some kind. Over the course of his life everyone he's cared about has died or left him for one reason or another, so he really does not trust that people will stay, and he will self-sabotage all of his relationships out of a desperate fear of abandonment/betrayal. This comes in the form of lashing out at people, picking fights with them (verbal or physical), and doing everything in his power to push the other person away and burn bridges. Other than that, basically every risky behavior that exists he has: risky sex with anyone who'll say yes, drug abuse (uppers, so he can party), alcoholism, incredibly dangerous job he hopes will bury him, and he doesn't feel pain thanks to his pain editor so, you know, he can be reckless. He punishes himself a lot and takes that hurt out on others around him.

Points of Confusion: The idea that his life was created is what will stick with him the most: was his life so traumatic and harsh just to mold him into this angry, bitter thing he is today? Was he turned into this feral dog just so that others could kick him for their entertainment after all? He'd always felt that whatever cruel god made him did it just to point and laugh at him, to say that he was created for this would just be the cherry on top. Truly he would struggle with his own depersonalization, wondering if he ever was real or not. Is he even a person if he was created in such a way as Daisy is trying to convince him? And once he does get his memories back, he still can't be sure that this isn't just Arasaka doing the same to him as Daisy claimed: he was meant to go with Alt and become something else, lose his sense of identity in the digital sea. Is this Arasaka just messing with him like he's a little digital pet? Certainly would be par for the course.

I personally plan to play the Daze off as, essentially, his new Agent with benefits. Agents are smart phones with a pseudo-AI secretary built in: tons of subroutines that weave together to intuitively work for the user, learning their habits over time. Agents speak and have personalities, and particularly lonely souls (not V) will make friends of them, or lovers. I think it'd be fun to have the Daze manifest in this way in addition to the illusions and such it comes with, giving V another point of confusion through something he trusts implicitly - if it's okay, of course.

Effects from Daisy: V will absolutely hesitate when it comes to lie that he was created by Daisy, but when it comes to the idea that he consented to be here he will call bullshit because this type of thing goes against his very nature. He typically exists as a contrarian to anyone in any form of power unless it directly benefits him to work with them. That being said: Daisy does seem to have power here (at least at first) so he will be very inclined to go along with whatever she says because it will seem very possible that she can make his life a living hell if he doesn't. In addition, having the Daze convincing him through his Agent would also make him a lot more inclined to be coaxed into whatever experiment Daisy's cooked up for them. V's a flawed, broken man that is very hot and cold. There might be times that what Daisy says really resonates with him and he's inclined to believe her, or there may be times she speaks and she may as well be trying to convince him he's actually Johnny Silverhand.
