[ If Vincent opens the door after the buzzer's gone off more than once, he'll find V standing outside slightly turned away, hands jammed into his pockets and gaze somewhere over his shoulder. ]

[ There's definitely a delay before V answers the door. Vince could hear a stumbling as V approached, a fumbling with the locks. He was standing tall when the door opened, though there was a little bit of a sway to him. He wasn't the most sober right now. He wore his usual clothes sans shoes and socks, his hair was messy as if he hadn't pulled a comb through it yet today. V looked fucking rough: a mixture of poorly contained discontent, days without sleep.

The space behind him contrasted somewhat from V's disheveled appearance. It was almost meticulous. A couple of cat toys littered the floor, but other than that it was neat. There was a small view of a countertop in the background: a surprising collection of what appeared to be liquor bottles resided there. If Vince looked hard enough behind V he could figure out where Vince spent his time based on where the liquor bottles seemed to be. Nibbles couldn't be seen, but he was probably sleeping somewhere upstairs.

An unimpressed and disinterested expression turned sour on recognizing the man before him. He had more than half a mind to just close the door and walk away, but he was feeling mean and the perfect opportunity to lash out just showed up before him. ]

What part'f lose my number means show up on my fuckin' doorstep?

[ What V might notice in the background pales in comparison to seeing Vincent for the first time in what's got to be a couple of weeks, at this point. Man looks like shit, and mad, and V both gets why and knows he deserves it. The memories he's got of Vincent from before even that jar violently with what he remembers he said and did in that bar.

Holding both hands up, palms bared, he's trying his best not to fuck this up. ]

I know. I know ya did... I just...

[ What the fuck's he supposed to say? He already knows he can't just apologize and move on. The others might've tried in whatever way they could to insist it wasn't his fault, but it didn't make a difference. The memories he's got from his time without the relic, with that little chip, they're still real and the damage is still something that needs to be repaired, however long that takes. ]

[ When Kerry does arrive and lets himself in he's met with the ground floor being relatively clean - certainly probably in better shape than what Kerry might expect if Vince had told him anything of what had happened. It was clear where V spent his time by the islands of liquor bottles found sporadically around the house.

As for V himself? Kerry came in and caught him putting a sweater on Nibbles. It was a cableknit sweater in blue, lightweight enough to not overheat Nibbles. There's a slowness to his movements that implied difficulty with them, accentuated with the bottle of liquor not too far out of reach.

He hadn't noticed Kerry yet, more focused on the cat. He looked very rough: definitely not sober, hadn't been sober in a hot minute, on the last legs of consciousness after not sleeping for three or four days. Nibbles was almost certainly eating better than V was. He'd always taken better care of that cat than himself. ]

[Kerry does let himself in and comes over to check out the sweater. He doesn't seem to notice the mess, and even if he had given the state of his house when he and V first met he's not one to judge.]

Well, doesn't someone look handsome today? [He asks the cat, offering Nibbles a half-smile before looking up at V.]

You, on the other hand, look about as good as I've felt recently. [There's concern in his voice and face as he moves to sit by V.]

[It's been a rough few days for Connor. Coming home to realise Ethan wasn't there was bad enough, but going to call Elidibus only to find out he was gone, too? Connor has spent a good few days just... alone. Sitting on the same chair, staring blankly at the necklace Ethan made for him before disappearing. He... doesn't know what to do. Where to go. Before he knows it, he's been in the same chair exactly 48 hours.

He went out and wandered for a while. And it was while he was wandering he realised he couldn't go back to that house again. Not right now, anyway. He considered going back to Hank, but they're just not as close as they once were and Connor needs to accept that. So... where?

It's not quite what V meant, he's sure. He must have meant for sex, right? But Connor finds himself turning around and walking in that direction anyway. When he realises he's knocked on the door already in some kind of trance he almost leaves again, but he doesn't get a chance. Perhaps that's for the best.

He looks sorry for himself, certainly. No trace of tears on his face, but his eyes are sad and he can't bring himself to smile when V opens the door. Not properly, anyway.]

V... I'm sorry, I just remembered that you told me I could come here, and...

[He trails off, half expecting to be turned away again. It occurs to him how late it is, his internal clock telling him it's 2:17am.]

[ V, for his part, simply kept doing what he did. He continued to go through his normal motions from day to day. Tonight he'd gotten lost in cleaning the guns he'd collected since arriving here. A purely zen exercise, something to kill time in the early hours of the morning. He'd always enjoyed methodical, detail-oriented work. It's why he took to programming so well.

The knock on his door would have been surprising if not for Nibbles's way of poking his head up whenever he heard someone approaching the door. It was the kind of late he didn't expect visitors. He grabbed the pistol that he'd already finished on and cracked the door to see who it was. He expected some strange gem with some bullshit ploy needing to get into his house for some reason, but instead, he saw Connor. The door opened the rest of the way to reveal a V wearing only boxers and a t-shirt, that he was holding a gun, but that he was also relaxed enough around Connor to be forthright about all of this. It was clear that V had already been awake.

V was initially pleased to see Connor on his doorstep - some small part of him didn't expect Connor to take him up on the offer, but once he had a moment to actually look at the man before him his expression shifted into a solemn look. He stepped out of the way to let Connor in. ]

Don't be sorry. Said you're welcome whenever, meant it.

[ Nibbles had moved to sit on the back of the couch and meowed at Connor as he entered, Snickers had curled up on one of her large dog cat beds and was choosing to completely ignore the intrusion by pretending to be asleep. V had been working at the coffee table in front of the couch, more than a few tall beer cans on the table. V wandered back to where he had been working to set the gun he was carrying down.

He was perhaps a little more direct than he meant to be when he spoke, but V was the type to jump to the worst case and was willing to ready himself for combat. ]

Not many come knockin' on my door this early. What's wrong?

Boone is having a hard time after Ballymallet; the fog had dissipated after a few days but his shoulders still feel weighed down by emotion. He hasn't felt guilt like this in a while, not to mention the shame of being unable to read the signs properly when it came to finally getting close to someone.

First time he's tried it since Carla died and he gets rejected- seems fitting really.

Worst of all though, he was actually starting to like Uldren. He seemed like an okay guy, he minded his own business and he wasn't bad to talk with. Boone could have seen them being friends, maybe, but now he's convinced that he's made things too awkward. He's angry at himself for taking that potion to begin with, because he's just made everything so much worse.

He's pretty drunk when he spots V from the table he's brooding at in a corner. He doesn't say anything, but the look on his face likely says he's not having a good time right now.

V certainly didn't get out like he used to but after the bullshit on Ballymallet, well, hopefully Connor would forgive him this trespass. He was feeling pretty good about things as a whole but that fog had jogged some things that V wished were still forgotten and sometimes you just had to drink to get it out of your head work through your problems in a very productive and grown-up manner. Yeah, that was it. He wasn't drinking too heavily for once (shocker), so it was only a matter of time before he noticed a rather miserable looking face brooding in a corner over a glass.

He should leave it, really. He should let this poor guy alone and not mess with it. There was probably nothing he could do for the guy but V recognized him and was pretty sure they'd met before, though he couldn't recall a name. V also felt a kind of sympathy for the guy: whatever he was going through to end up looking like that in a place like this? V had probably been there before. Knowing that feeling of being drunk what unhappy was why V didn't bother to ask if he could join the man at the table. He simply sat and took a sip of the drink he brought with him, then spoke.

"Bad day?" V nodded at whatever affirmation the man gave. "Want to talk 'bout it?"
